New Zealand: Lake Pukaki & Christchurch

Lake Pukaki was not what I was expecting… No matter what I had envisioned, this was not it.

The colour of the water was enough to question its authenticity. (FYI these pictures are not edited in any way, the water is actually that blue).

The reason for this bright blue colour is there was once a huge glacier that eventually melted and the fine silt particles that remain are what you see suspended in the water.

After the lake we headed to Morlea farm to see sheepherding in action and took a quick pit stop in Geraldine to see the worlds largest Jumper,  before arriving back in Christchurch for the night.

As some of the group were leaving tomorrow, we all decided to have one final night out together.

Where better than the Bootleg BBQ Co.
