Ok so as you may or may not know I love my rugby. Granted I may not know everything there is to know, but what I do know is rugby is awesome.
Mostly because of the sportsmanship, specifically on the pitch its war, but once the game’s over everyone’s best buds and the head off to the pub for a pint. Awesome.
So seeing as England are hosting the rugby world cup this year, I’m even more excited.
Being English, I will if course be supporting England whole-heartedly, but our big competition are current world champions the New Zealand All Blacks (who I also love).
So being one of these people who never wins anything (seriously!) I entered a competition to meet the All Blacks at a welcoming party before the world cup starts. I didn’t think anything of it, but what did I have to lose?
As you might have guessed, I only won! Trust me, no one is more shocked than I am. I’d won 2 tickets to meet the All Blacks in London at an event hosted by Air New Zealand and I knew straight away I’d take my dad. Best day ever!
It was epic. We’d met, had pictures taken with and got autographs from Owen Franks, Tony Woodcock, Keven Mealamu, Jerome Kaino, Aaron Smith and Conrad Smith. And former All Black player Sir John Kirwan, hosted the Q&A session!
To make the most of being in London, we decided to do a spot of site seeing while we were there.
All in all a great day. Meeting the players were definitely one of the highlights of this year and I’ve still got plenty to look forward to!
Genuinely nice guys who made the effort for their fans, but unfortunately guys I’m still rooting for England. C’mon lads! #weartherose #carryushome #rbw15
