To my dream reader…

Hello readers.

First of all, who is my dream reader? Who would I like to reach through my content? What do I want to share with them?

All very tricky questions, but here goes.

I guess it all comes back to why I started my blog and what I wanted to achieve with it. I originally started this blog as a way to keep friends, family and any other interested parties updated on my travels. I hoped to inspire others, as many other blogs out there inspired me, to pack your bags and explore the big wide world.

There are so many beautiful places in this world and I spend so much time daydreaming and reading up about these places that I feel like I’ve been there. But sometimes feeling like you’ve been there isn’t enough.

So after finding inspiration and heading off on my adventure down under (and then consequently writing about it) I found the spark I was looking for. I realised that not only did I enjoy exploring this world, I enjoyed writing about it. And after getting some pretty good feedback from my readers I got a warm fuzzy feeling that you get when you know you’ve reached like-minded people who enjoy reading your work as much as you enjoy writing it. I was hooked!

So to sum up, my ideal reader would be people who share a passion for travel in all its beautiful and sometimes disastrous glory. The beginners just about to take the first leap and the expats who have been bitten by the travel bug so many times, they infect other willing travellers. The small holiday goers, the great adventurers, the dreamers and the risk-takers, anyone who shares this wanderlust we feel when we head off to pastures new, and anyone who enjoys reading about other adventures from home comforts.

There’s a big wide world out there for us to explore, and in the blogging world, I’m glad to be a small part of it.

As always, thanks for reading.

  3. I liked this post! I have been writing for myself about who I want my readers to be. Like you, I hope to inspire people to travel this amazing world and be mesmerized by its beauty, and learn from its people, just as I have. I am also in an in-between where I would hope to help people plan and find places to go! For now I will keep drafting this post for myself, perhaps one day I will have figured out and be able to post it like you!

    • Hi Katie, my little piece of advice would be too write exactly what you’ve just said in this comment 🙂 the world is a big place and getting to see the beautiful sights it has to offer is one thing I don’t want to miss out on. I’m sure there are many others out there that feel the same 🙂 keep at it, it will come together in the end! Happy blogging and safe travels.
